SELF-REFLEXIVE ARCHITECTURE FOR A NON-LINEAR LIFESTYLE When a mirror is placed in front of another mirror, the visual effect is a multi-layered sequence of the original mirrors reproduced within themselves, however the physical object remains as one. Suggesting an infinite recurrence of an architecture, the design concept involves a generic kit of parts that multiplies within itself, creating smaller iterations of a room within a room within a room. This method continues as the smaller spaces take form of smaller programs that are proportionate to the scale of a human: living room – kitchen – bedroom – bathroom - closet. Unlike the mirror example, where the object creates an illusion of several running in one direction; this design challenges the possibility of extracting the replicates from each other in any direction, creating an expandable and ever-changing place under the dweller’s control. The manifestation of such a flexible and mutable structure begins to defy the atavistic rules of suburban sprawl. Homes will no longer be under the control of planners and associations, but will give power to the dweller, to have liberty to create and modify their own homes, neighborhoods and urbanities.
