Exploring Geometries - Design Exercises One of the beginning stages of a design initiates with the exploration of form and it's relationship with function. Gathering a variety of physical wood pieces creates an opportunity to create endless ways of assembling them. Using this kit of parts, simple forms are stacked, interlocked, penetrated, or balanced with each other, creating space and structure. Finding inspiration in day-to-day things such as music, can create a rhythmic visual that can be assembled as a form. Whether it creates wide spaces, narrow spaces or angled structures, music can be interpreted in a variety of ways.
