An Exploratory Study - Digital Collages Problem: The issue is, we do not know the answer to Wynwood’s future. So the question must not be “what is the answer?” but perhaps the question is “what is the question?” In search for the proper research, we gather the factors of time, location and decisions to find out where Architecture is going and how will it get there. To avoid the depletion of wynwood’s lifestyle, we can vertically engage the 25 foot warehouse datum by bringing the art to the skies and transforming Art Walk into an Art Climb. Premise: So the question may be, how can architecture be one step ahead of evolution to be ready for it’s ever-changing environment? The evolution of time and the renewal of the world claims that architecture cannot be static. Like an organic lifeform, it must become dynamic and forward thinking. Looking into the future of Wynwood, we see not Gentrification and dead art, but we see Architecture and Art become allies as one complements the other. Wynwood is a large canvas of artwork made by the people, for the people. It’s unpredictability is it’s beauty that provides interstitial spaces with a purpose. The transformation from unappealing land, to gallery shows the power of potential Wynwood holds. Architecture and Urban components come second to the art, as people tend to follow the paintings rather than the roads and naturally meander in and out of areas where most would find hidden gems. Using every last inch of alley space and courtyards, Wynwood is calling for an expansion as it’s works of art are coming alive and shifting themselves to new levels that may not necessarily stay on the ground.
